Chiswick - Imagination, Creativity and Plenty of Watery Fun!

Our week in the Forest

This week in the forest has been overflowing with imagination, creativity and plenty of watery fun! From messy play to artistic adventures, our Little Forest Folk-ers have once again embraced every moment with joy and curiosity.

We kicked things off with the excitement of our new water play area, which quickly became a favourite spot for cooling down and making a splash. The children explored pouring, scooping and experimenting with flow, building their understanding of water through hands-on discovery and lots of laughter!

Adding to the creative buzz, the children made cat faces attached to a stick. With paper, markers and plenty of personality, each cat came to life with whiskers, ears and expressions as unique as their creators. These furry friends then joined in role play and storytelling throughout the week.

The sand tray provided another rich sensory experience. Whether scooping, digging, or using tools to create patterns and shapes, the children were fully engaged in this calming and tactile activity. It became a hub for collaboration and creativity.

Our boat race was a definite highlight! The children raced boats through water channels all the way to the alligator lake, with cheers and excitement echoing through the trees. It was a fantastic way to explore floating, sinking and the power of water through play.

In between all the action, the children loved moulding playdough. This time, their creations took inspiration from the forest around them as they used playdough cutters to make trees, rabbits and dogs.

This was a particularly special week as we have adopted a bengal tiger! The children were fascinated by this majestic creature and channelled their curiosity and care into drawing their very own tiger. The children used ink, chalk markers and paper to make a picture that was bold, expressive and full of character. This sparked rich discussions about animals, habitats and how we can care for wildlife near and far.

As always, it wasn’t just about what we made or played, but how we came together. Our Little Forest Folk-ers supported one another, shared ideas and celebrated each other’s creativity. Whether splashing in water, drawing tigers, or racing boats, their sense of wonder and togetherness filled the forest with joy.

It’s been another magical week in nature and we can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us!
